Flotation - Dissolved Air Flotation (DAF) – increases the rise of suspended solids by adhering microscopic air bubbles to them. This results in a floating layer of solids on top of the surface which can easily be removed. AQUA Industrial WaterTreatment offers two different flotation systems. Both can be equipped with a bottom auger for automated sediment (sand) removal.
The DAFINCI is a low maintenance unit that generates an extremely dry sludge (floating) layer. This system is perfect for highly poluted and/or greasy waste water. The standard installation has a hydraulic capacity of up to 315 m3/hour (1,050 GPM).
The FH series is a compact unit equipped with a plate pack unit and can handle bigger capacities on a smaller foot print.. It can have a capacity up to 565 m3/hour (2,500 GPM)
Both series,–the FH and the DAFINCI – create microscopic air bubbles by depressurizing the air-saturated water from 4-6 Bar down to atmospheric pressure in the flotation tank. First, part of the purified water will be pressurized in a saturation vessel or by use of a side channel pump. The saturated water will be returned to the bottom of the DAF-unit where it will be injected. The difference in pressure creates micro air bubbles in the DAF unit itself.
