Fish Industry

The processing of fish is in most cases, an automated process. In production the fish is decapitated, deboned and filleted. This process requires much water to comply with food  and hygiene regulations. The thorough cleansing of fish results in highly polluted effluent. During further processing of the fish, preservatives can be added such as salt, vinegar, food oils and/or fats. The amount of salts and fats are the main determinant in the choice of a treatment system.
